Postbox Email Client - review

This email program is worth the money you will pay for, although it is based on Thunderbird, which is free, Postbox is greatly modified. It comes with all the standard features of all of today’s modern email programs like in line spell check, powerful filters, and Bayesian spam protection.

What sets this program apart from the others is its extensive search capabilities. Once the email you have sent is indexed searching for a certain message you have sent, a particular image attached in an email, or link from a specific person, by date, keyword, or combination of all of these becomes extremely quick. Email viewing and browsing is also made faster by a side panel that pops up that allows you to quickly browse pictures, attachments, etc. from the sender of that email.

The threaded conversation support lets you group together all emails with the same subject so long conversations are easy to keep track of. Automatic configuration is done instantly just by adding your email address when first starting this program.

The tabs that are supported by Postbox, those similar to Firefox and Thunderbird, helps reduce your window clutter. When you double click on your message a new tab automatically appears, although if you prefer messages can still be opened in different windows. No Thunderbird add-ons are compatible, but plug-ins are available for different add-ons such as encryption or a calendar.

Overall Postbox is a very good email program and includes many useful features, highlighted is its fast search capability. This program will benefit users who need to sort through vast amounts of emails. Less demanding consumers will find cheaper products more practical, but for everyone else this product is super.
